If you’re one of the 1.6 million people who lost their jobs to automation last year, the next few years are looking like the ones you’ve always wanted to see.
As of last month, there were 4.2 million jobs lost to automation, according to a report from the Oxford Economics Group.
This is up from 4.1 million jobs in the same period a year earlier, but a mere 3.4 million jobs at the end of 2016.
While that’s a pretty big decline, there are still a lot of jobs in robotics, and that could be a boon for those who need them.
“If you are a tech company or a technology-focused service company, if you are not a tech-focused business, then you are going to need to make some moves to keep growing your business,” said Mark Zandi, CEO of Zandi Consulting.
“The more you invest in robotics and robotics-related technologies, the better off you will be.”
If you don’t have a robotics-focused tech firm, Zandi said you could also be the one doing the hiring.
That means you’ll need to be able to recruit a new group of engineers, managers, and other employees to help with the job, so if you’re not a traditional tech firm then you can’t just keep hiring workers.
This means that you’ll also need to figure out how to retain those employees.
Hire people who know their stuff, but also know the jobs in this sector.
That could mean hiring more human resources staff.
“There are a lot more people who don’t really know the tech world than people who do,” Zandi told Business Insider.
“They have an idea of what a robot can do, and they are a little bit less familiar with how to build a robot, so they’re better suited for the position.”
As for the rest of us, Zandy said that companies should focus on recruiting the best people, even if they aren’t necessarily the best in their field.
“It’s important to remember that we are not going to build robots with 100% human ability,” Zanda said.
“But if you hire people who are going [to] be the best at their jobs and have a great attitude, you will have a very good team.”
The next big job in robotics is likely to be in medical technology, which has been growing fast.
“Robots are going from being really, really cool to really cool and getting very, very useful,” Zano told Business Insiders.
“We are really excited about the opportunity to get robots in our healthcare system.”
This is the next step in the evolution of the robot.
The technology is advancing, and there are lots of exciting possibilities.
“I think the next 10 years are going the way of the horse,” Zanesaid.
“As robotics is getting smarter, it’s going to be really interesting to see what we are going over the next couple of decades.”
