LAS VEGAS — As the flu season winds down, you may want to get vaccinated in the Las Vegas area.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Thursday that the county will be accepting new applications for flu shots beginning at 6 p.m.
Las Vegas has a population of about 8 million.
The CDC announced on Wednesday that it would offer vaccine options to residents who live in the following counties:Alaska; Arkansas; California; Colorado; Florida; Idaho; Indiana; Kansas; Kentucky; Louisiana; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; Michigan; Minnesota; Mississippi; Montana; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New Mexico; New York; North Carolina; North Dakota; Oregon; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; South Carolina; South Dakota; Tennessee; Texas; Utah; Vermont; Virginia; Washington; West Virginia; Wisconsin.
If you don.t live in one of these counties, you should get vaccinated at least once a month, the CDC said.
