With industrial training jobs increasingly available, it’s expected that there will be a significant increase in industrial generator services jobs in Canada, according to the company that manages the industry.
The Canadian Association of Industrial Generator Services said the number is expected to increase by 30%, to nearly 5,000 jobs, from around 2,400.
That’s a 40% increase from the past three years, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Canada’s industrial generator sector employs some 1.6 million people and employs about half of the country’s workforce.
The sector grew about 7.3% in the fourth quarter of 2015, to an average of $6.5 billion, according the Association of Canadian Industry.
In the first three quarters, the sector added about 3,400 jobs.
The number of industrial generator jobs in the U.S. also increased by 30.6% from the fourth to the first quarter of this year.
